Project Overview
This project aims to install a completely new drinking water network in the city of Bab Bila, Rural Damascus, to replace the old and dilapidated infrastructure. This vital project comes as part of efforts to enhance basic services and restore life to the city after years of destruction, with the creation of an integrated network ensuring the delivery of clean and safe water to homes.
Main Objectives
- Provide clean and safe drinking water: Ensure that Bab Bila residents receive water that meets health standards by using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes dedicated to drinking water, guaranteeing water quality and safety.
- Improve infrastructure: Fully replace the old network with a new one, enhancing the distribution system’s efficiency and reducing losses and outages.
- Ensure service sustainability: Use high-quality pipes with a long lifespan, along with valves to control flow and pressure distribution, ensuring the network operates efficiently for decades to come.
Scope of Work
The project involves the complete installation of a new network, not just rehabilitation, with the scope including:
- Main Lines: Implementation of new main lines with a total length of more than 2,200 meters and various diameters, starting from the drinking water wells and extending to supply the entire city.
- High-Quality Materials: Use of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes designated for drinking water to ensure water quality and network durability.
- Flow Control: Installation of valves and flow control devices along the main lines to regulate water flow rates and pressure distribution optimally.
- Household Connections: Connecting the new network to household connections, delivering clean water to every home in the city.
